Step 1: Press Windows key + R, and type the command below and hit Enter or click Ok.
msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerConfigurationDiagnostic
Step 2: Click Next. Troubleshooter will take sometime to detect issues.
Step 3: Next click Apply this fix to reset default Windows Media Player settings.

Fix 2: Delete Local App Data
Local app data stored in Media player folder may arise this issue. To delete app data follow the steps:
Step 1: Press Windows Key + R to launch Run.
Step 2: Type appdata and hit Enter or click Ok.
Step 3: You will see Windows Explorer with the App Data folder opened. Now follow the path local>Microsoft>media player. Just double-click on Local folder, then Microsoft and Media Player to open the folder.
Step 4: Press Ctrl + A to select all data in the folder.
Step 5: Press Delete key or right-click on it and select Delete to delete all the app data.

Fix 3: Reinstall Windows Media Player

Step 1: Type control panel in the search bar and open the app.
Step 2: Now set view by large icon(on the top right of the Window)and click Programs and features.
Step 3: Go to the left panel of the Window and click Turn Windows features on or off.
Step 4: Now scroll down and find Media features, click the plus icon before Media features to expand it.
Step 5: Uncheck the box before Windows Media Player and again click Yes.
Step 6: Now reboot your computer and repeat step 1 to 4 and this time check the box before Windows Media Player to start it again.
Again reboot your computer and see your problem is fixed.
Fix 4: Re-register these DLL files

Step 1: Type cmd in the search bar and right click on it click Run as Administrator.
