Windows 10 is featured with “Storage Sense” that helps to free up storage in your device. Low storage is one of the most important reasons for slowing down a computer. Process to empty Recycle Bin on a schedule on Windows 10
Step 1: Open Settings by pressing Windows Key + I or click on the Start icon and select Settings at the left bar.
Step 2: Click on System on the left side of the Settings Window.
Step 3: No go to Storage option, situated at the left panel.
Step 4: In the Storage Windows you will see a short description of Storage sense under storage. Toggle the switch to on position to turn on the Storage sense feature.
Step 5: After that, click on Configure storage sense or run it now.
Step 6: Select the duration after which Storage Sense will clean up space. You can set the duration to:
- Every day
- Every week
- Every month
- During low free disk space
Step 7: Go a little bit in the Window and you will see Temporary files as the heading. You have the option to delete temporary files that your apps are not using. You can turn it on or off as your choice. Now select the time duration after which Storage scan will delete Recycle bin. Set delete files in my recycle bin if they have been there for over:
- 14 day
- 30 days
- 60 days
Step 8: You have also the option to delete files from the Downloads folder if you have not opened or used them for a certain period of time. I prefer to delete them manually.
That is the process to empty Recycle Bin on a schedule on Windows 10. If you find some of these features deletes some important files from your device you can turn it off anytime. Just follow the path Settings> System > Storage> Turn of Storage Sense.
